EXPERIENCE

EMERGING PROFESSIONAL

July 2021 - Present

Opsis Architecture, Portland, Oregon

Upon graduating, I packed up and moved across the country to learn the ways of design on the west coast. During my time at Opsis, I've had the opportunity to work on pieces of many local projects with an imperative focus on sustainable design principles. At Opsis I joined the Green Team, Design Culture Committee, and Emerging Professionals Group. Along with the projects and initiatives, I am studying for my third Architect Registration Exam.

STAFF 1

January - August 2020

Rothschild Doyno Collaborative, Pittsburgh, PA

During the Spring semester of my fourth year, I had the opportunity to gain some work experience whilst being immersed in the city of Pittsburgh. All of the projects I had the chance to work on were local. The experience at RDCollab informed and prepared me for my upcoming thesis. At the end of my time at RDCollab, I was placed on a team leading the designs for an award package that was recently honored with a Design PGH merit certificate.

EUROPEAN FALL TRAVEL STUDENT

Fall 2019

VT College of Architecture and Urban Studies

While traveling to 10 different countries in the course of three months, I had the chance to sketch and photograph in some of the most incredible spaces. My research included an immersion in the rational yet romantic Bibliotheque St Genevieve by Henri Labrouste.

SAN FRANCISCO INTEGRATED SUMMER STUDIO

Summer 2019

The Shalleck Collaborative Inc., San Francisco, CA

This integrated design studio program was hosted by a firm that serves as a theater consultant on projects in San Francisco and all over the world. I had the opportunity to spearhead the program and be immersed in a new city with nine other interns.

AMERICORPS SUMMER STUDIO PARTICIPANT

Summer 2018

100 FOLD Studio, Lakeside, MT

As one of nine interns from all over the globe at a design-build firm, I had the opportunity to influence our stair tower project from concept designs through documentation and into construction. The community of architects at the firm challenged us and guided us to the completion of the stair tower.

CAMP COUNSELOR

Summer 2017

Summer's Best Two Weeks, Boswell, PA

For 5, two-week terms, I co-led a group of ten girls through all the experiences summer camp offers. I worked with other peers in facilitating wilderness trips, crafts, activities, and bible study. I became American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid certified to lead the mountain biking overnight trip during each term.
